Its just the aim is to keep all of that inside a proper marriage, which is the basis for established a solid family structure which in turn creates a better society. No there's no kissing, or holding hands, or going out to the movies, or living-in, and all the other things non-Muslims do. The halal way is to limit the interaction between the potential spouse to only when it's necessary.
We should realize, that while it is natural to be embarrassed to discuss such aspects of Islam with them, it is infinitely better for them, that we impart the correct knowledge of an Islamic way of life to them, than allow them to acquire the totally wrong concept of �love� from books, television, movies, and their friends and environment.
It should be explained to each teenager that the pre-marital relationships, the engagements, etc to which we attach such a great deal of importance in this world have nothing but a negative bearing on our lives in the aakhirah.
People may think theyre 'compatible' cos theyre having a great bedroom life, but once the fun has gone they may realise there are many aspects they are not compatible in and hence the relationship fails.
The reason why small things such as holding hands are prohibited is because inevitibly this will lead you to other things, nobody can doubt that.
